Chocolate and Vanilla Cream Pies

1/3 cup sugar

1/4 cup Argo corn starch

1/2 tsp salt

2-2/3 cups milk

2 tsp butter or margarine

1 tsp vanilla

 

Mix sugar, corn starch and salt in sauce pan. Gradually stir in milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute.

Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla. For chocolate, increase sugar to 2/3 cup and add 3 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa to corn starch.

Pour into a baked pie shell. Prepare meringue from egg whites and cover pie. Bake at 375 degrees until brown.
